Our 14.5 kg 1.7V magnesium anode bag includes a 5 meter long #8 AWG red XLPE/PVC cable and is ideal for protecting underground steel objects such as propane tanks from corrosion through cathodic protection. If you're looking for a smaller size, check out our 7.7 kg magnesium anode bag.
With proper use and number of anodes, you can give your underground object extensive cathodic protection, meaning you won't have to replace any steel parts due to corrosion for years to come. Magnesium anodes are very effective in high resistivity soil and water due to their high driving voltage. Our anodes are delivered with a bentonite filling and a 5 meter long cable for underground installation. The cable connection is protected with epoxy for extra durability and efficient current dissipation.
